MY STORY

I grew up in southern NY in the late 50’s / early 60’s and started playing guitar at an early age. This was the golden age of Rock and Roll and I recall music happening all around me. It seemed to be present practically everywhere I went. It was just a wonderful time to be growing up (at least musically)!
I played in garage bands from 8th grade through college. After a failed attempt as a musician after college graduation, I used my Astrophysics degree to get a job as a Geophysicist in the Oil Industry.
Now, after 40 years and 48 countries later, I retired from Big Oil in 2021 and started playing music again. “I never actually ‘quit’ playing during those years – I just rarely performed in public or played in bands”.

I began playing at the Dannini Wine Bar shortly after retiring with just an acoustic guitar and built up over the months to playing through a full sound system and branching out to performing in other local venues. I was a finalist in the Dosey Doe Open Mic Competition and still perform there occasionally.
I’ve also made appearances at the Gran Fondo Texas, Burn your Buns Charity Bike Events and The Table at Madeley. I’m still the house performer at Dannini, performing most Friday evenings. I always encourage audience participation and encourage guests to get up and sing or play. Music to me is all about spontaneity.
I play an assortment of old classics from the 60’s & 70’s to the present along with original songs. Many of my songs came to me while working in remote places or riding my bike. Song writing for me has been an interesting journey: While I consider composing the music part easy most of the time, the lyrics don’t always flow out of me when I want them to! You might consider me a little weird in the sense that some people hear voices in their head. Whereas, I have always heard music in my head. It took me quite a while to realize that and put it to good use! I’m also a very unique lead guitar player. Unique in the fact that I rarely play the same solo twice. So, if you ever get hear me play live, you can be sure you will hear something no one has heard before -not even me!
I’ve lived in The Woodlands, Texas since 1996 after moving here from Nerja, Spain. (While working in Algeria) I recall receiving a certificate from Life Forms Home Builders in The Woodlands as being the first family to purchase a home over the internet! I’ve been married to my wife Carmen for over 37 years, and we’ve raised 4 grown children.
